(Dan Tri) – President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Vietnam Nguyen Xuan Phuc sent congratulatory letters on the occasion of the two countries celebrating the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations.

The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Vietnam said that on September 23, President Ilham Aliyev and President Nguyen Xuan Phuc sent letters of congratulations on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The leaders noted that bilateral relations are currently at a high level based on the foundation of traditional friendship and expressed confidence in strengthening and further developing bilateral cooperation in all fields.

According to Azerbaijan’s Azertac news agency, President Ilham Aliyev commented: `The foundation of the friendship and cooperation relationship between Azerbaijan and Vietnam was built by national leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ho Chi Minh in the century.

`We attach great importance to the development of Azerbaijan – Vietnam relations. We are satisfied with the relationship between the two countries based on a solid foundation and effective cooperation in the fields of politics, trade, economics,

The Azerbaijani leader emphasized that the two sides’ constructive cooperation stems from mutual trust and support within the framework of international organizations, especially the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement.

Azerbaijan appreciates Vietnam’s support and legitimate views regarding territorial integrity, sovereignty and internationally recognized borders based on the norms and principles of international law and related resolutions.

Today, the partnership between the two countries in economics and trade, energy, transportation, agriculture, investment and other fields has much potential for expansion.

30 years ago, on September 23, 1992, Vietnam and Azerbaijan officially established diplomatic relations.

From the years when Vietnam was going through the war until the country was unified and began to build the Fatherland, Azerbaijan has been a friend and brother who accompanied and helped all the way.
