Airlines are reducing air ticket prices

After several promotions since the beginning of the month that were not effective, this week Vietnamese airlines continued to launch more air ticket discount programs.

At the same time, on the leap day of February 29, this airline also launched an international round-trip ticket price program.

Today, Jetstar Pacific also has a ticket hunting program with up to 50% discount on domestic flights.

Vietjet Air still maintains a 50% discount program on the entire flight network departing from February 20 to April 27.

The check-in counter at Da Nang international airport terminal is empty.

Currently, Jetstar’s round-trip ticket price for the Hanoi – Ho Chi Minh City route in mid-March is the cheapest, just over 900,000 VND including taxes and fees.

Tickets to other destinations such as Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Da Nang, Quy Nhon… are also quite cheap.

Since the outbreak of the epidemic in late January, Vietnamese airlines have been severely affected.

Currently, dozens of aircraft of domestic airlines have no flight hours since they had to stop flying to China.

Since the beginning of this week, a number of airlines have also stopped flying or reduced the frequency of flights to Korea when this country became the second largest Covid-19 outbreak in the world.

The Vietnam Aviation Administration has proposed 3 scenarios for the aviation market in 2020. Accordingly, if the epidemic ends in April (the most optimistic scenario), the total market this year will still reach 80 million passengers, an increase of 1.

In the average scenario (when the epidemic ends in June 2020), the total market will only reach 74.6 million passengers, down 5.7%, and the number of passengers passing through the port will reach 111.6 million, down 4.2%.

In the worst case, if the epidemic ends in August, the total market will decrease by 17.2%, to only 65.5 million customers.
