More than 710,000 people in Ho Chi Minh City are involved in Covid-19 cases

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control (HCDC), the above number of test samples were taken from May 26 to present, an increase of more than 23,200 samples compared to yesterday.

Among F1, currently 1,428 samples are waiting for test results, the rest are negative.

Ho Chi Minh City is improving testing capacity with a capacity of 500,000 samples per day, expanding testing for workers working in export processing zones, industrial parks, and high-risk areas.

This morning and noon, Ho Chi Minh City recorded 96 new cases of infection, announced by the Ministry of Health, most of which are contacts of previously announced patients who have been quarantined or located in blockade areas.

The number of new cases brings the total community cases of this fourth epidemic to 1,714.

On June 20, three more cases were discharged from the hospital, the total number of cured cases is 373. Currently, hospitals are treating 1,558 new positive patients.

Ho Chi Minh City is implementing a campaign to inject 836,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine, which is the vaccine prioritized by the Ministry of Health among nearly one million doses provided by Japan to Vietnam.

It is expected that when this phase is completed, about 6% of Ho Chi Minh City’s population will be vaccinated against Covid-19.

The city still maintains the organization of medical declarations for people returning from localities and areas with cases, quarantined, and medically monitored;

From 0:00 on June 20, the city will implement Directive 10 of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee.

HCDC recommends that people strictly follow the regulations under this directive, only leaving home when absolutely necessary.
