22 employees of Ho Chi Minh City Tropical Diseases Hospital are suspected of having Covid-19

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control (HCDC), 22 positive cases include 7 information technology department employees and 15 administrative department employees.

On the morning of June 11, an information technology department employee residing in Hoc Mon town, Hoc Mon district went to the hospital to go to work and make a medical declaration according to regulations.

On June 12, the hospital took samples to test all 596 employees and inpatients.

Among the 15 administrative staff, one person is the wife of the information technology employee who was first detected with Covid-19 through screening at the hospital.

On the afternoon of June 12, the Hospital for Tropical Diseases was temporarily blocked to carry out epidemic prevention and hygiene measures.

The Hospital for Tropical Diseases from the beginning of this week changed its function into a hospital specializing in treating Covid-19 patients.

Currently, the Covid-19 treatment area is arranged in a completely separate area from other departments.

After working time, this group of employees is allocated a separate accommodation area, without contact with outsiders and other medical staff.

The hospital still maintains RT-PCR diagnostic testing and care for Covid-19 patients being treated.

From May 30, block A6 of Ehome 3 apartment building in An Lac ward, Binh Tan district was blocked due to the discovery of two cases of infection, patients 7407 and 7418, related to the chain of infection of the Renaissance missionary group.

After that, due to the recording of case 8737 of the infection chain related to this Ehome 3 apartment building, blocks A3 and A4 were blocked from June 5.
