Dr. Pham Xuan Dung, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital, said that base hospital 1 has begun to bring outpatients from the provinces and Thu Duc city to base 2 for treatment and treatment.

The Project Management Board is working with the hospital with Thu Duc City Police to approve the fire prevention and fighting plan before May 10, completing items to bring the entire inpatient treatment area and operating room block to the hospital.

According to Dr. Dung, the hospital is ready with personnel, professional procedures and procedures for transferring patients being treated during the day to the new facility when the items are handed over.

The hospital has prepared enough human resources to serve at facility 2 with 1,350 people, including 297 doctors, 650 nurses, 40 pharmacists, 120 technicians and administrative support staff.

The majority of employees are people with many years of experience, transferred from the old facility, including many leading experts in the industry.

The Department of Health of Ho Chi Minh City commented that while waiting for the handover of the inpatient treatment area, putting the day treatment area under the Medical Examination Department in the new facility into operation is an urgent need, helping to solve the problem of overcrowding.

Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health Tang Chi Thuong requested units to work with Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance and support the hospital in its early stages of formation to ensure the rights of patients covered by health insurance.

When fully operational, this will be the main facility responsible for examining, diagnosing and receiving inpatient treatment of all oncology patients, replacing base hospital 1. At that time, at location

Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital facility 2 was built in 2016 on a 5.6 hectare land plot in Tan Phu ward, Thu Duc city, more than 20 km from the city center.

From October 2020, the facility began accepting people for medical examination and treatment.
